У статті обґрунтовано, що інформаційний простір зазнає постійного динамізму та трансформації. Зазначено, що інформаційні ресурси потребують захисту від загроз та небезпек щодо несанкціонованого доступу до них. Доведено необхідність забезпечення інформаційної безпеки на різних рівнях управління: інформаційна безпека особи, інформаційна безпека підприємства, інформаційна безпека регіону, інформаційна безпека держави. Проведено огляд літератури поняття «інформаційна безпека». Згруповано підходи до економічної сутності інформаційної безпеки за трьома ознаками: за ознакою «захист інформації від небезпек та загроз»; за ознакою «стабільний та стійкий стан системи державного управління в інформаційному просторі»; за ознакою «безпечні умови існування інформаційних технологій». Зазначено, що державні та регіональні органи управління повинні відслідковувати можливі інформаційні атаки, розробляти превентивні дії щодо захисту інформаційного простору України. Доведено необхідність розробки превентивних заходів по локалізації та нейтралізації можливих загроз та небезпек в інформаційному просторі через застосування сучасних інформаційних технологій. Сучасні інформаційні технології здатні захистити інформацію, убезпечити громадян від інформаційних атак та зберегти цілісний інформаційний простір країни. Подано авторське бачення інформаційної безпеки регіону як стану захищеності інформаційних ресурсів регіональних суб’єктів господарювання (інформаційних баз даних) від загроз та небезпек середовищ задля реалізації національних інтересів в інформаційній сфері на регіональному рівні та забезпечення інформаційного суверенітету країни в цілому
