Anti-plagiarism Policy

Statement of Responsibility

Economic Forum journal upholds the highest standards of academic integrity. All authors submitting manuscripts are held fully accountable for the originality of their work and the proper citation of scholarly sources. Authors are expected to adhere strictly to the ethical principles of scientific research and citation.

Scope of Originality and Acceptable Use

Only original, unpublished manuscripts are considered for publication. Submissions must not have been published elsewhere in any language, nor be under review by other journals. The use of others' work – text, data, or ideas – must be properly acknowledged with appropriate citations.

Plagiarism Detection Process

To ensure compliance, Economic Forum uses the iThenticate software to detect instances of textual overlap and potential plagiarism. This system checks both online sources and the journal's internal databases.

The editorial board of the journal analyses all cases of recorded plagiarism and reserves the right to reject reviewing the submitted manuscript.

Scientific articles submitted to the editorial office of the journal are checked according to the following indicators:

  • if the originality of the manuscript is more than 85%, the material is allowed for reviewing;
  • if the originality of the article is from 75 to 85%, the research paper is sent to the authors for revision with a recommendation to revise the text borrowings and resubmit the revised article;
  • less than 75% originality of the text – the material is not accepted for consideration;
  • no more than 3% borrowing from one source is allowed.

Editorial Response to Plagiarism

The editorial board reserves the right to decline the review or publication of any manuscript found to contain plagiarised content. Plagiarism – whether detected prior to or after publication – is regarded as a serious ethical violation.

In the event plagiarism is identified post-publication, the editorial board will:

  • conduct a thorough investigation;
  • notify the author(s) formally;
  • take appropriate actions, which may include retraction, publication of an erratum, or notification to affiliated institutions.

Ethical Compliance and Institutional Standards

This policy adheres to the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines and reflects international standards of research integrity. All parties – authors, reviewers, editors, and publishers – are expected to maintain the highest levels of professional behaviour and academic ethics.

Plagiarism in all forms is unacceptable and is considered unethical and a violation of the system of norms of professional behaviour in the relationship of authors, reviewers, editors, publishers and readers, which contradicts the provision on publication ethics.
