In the article the features of functioning of the largest food-retail market of TNK on the domestic market are investigated; The level of influence of inflation and real wages, as well as the cost of renting outlets on the activity of TNK-retailers in Ukraine is estimated. A comparative analysis of the strategies of domestic and European retailers in the food sector in Ukraine and a SWOT-analysis of the activities of European TNKs of food retailers in Ukraine on the example of Auchan and Metro were conducted. Conclusions are made about the possibility of adapting the world experience of TNCs in the sphere of food-retailing to domestic realities
